Always a good student, Coleman was valedictorian at Glades Day School, and then entered the University of Florida in the honors program. He later earned a Bachelors degree in Finance from Florida Atlantic University.
After graduating, Coleman went to work with his father, who just started a new business providing probation services to Martin County. Coleman worked with his father for three years before receiving a partial scholarship to the University of Miami School of Law. He served as a senior editor of the University of Miami Law Review, and graduated fifth in his class in 1996.
Coleman began his career at the law firm of Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart before moving
to SBA Communications Corporation handling mergers and acquisitions. Although he
